Samurai Moving Meditation
The intention of the Zen Samurai Way is to create a harmonious relationship with the body. This practice invites us to release and let go, to trust the innate wisdom that lives within us, the body knows. Through this trust, we find real balance, deep harmony, and the embodied understanding that we are nature.
Rooted in the five elements, the foundational teachings guide us through forms that cultivate presence, power, and connection, using gravity as an ally. As we come to understand the elements within ourselves, we begin to understand others more deeply.
ABOUT Zen Samurai
Sensei Zen Takai’s life has been steeped in the ancient traditions of Japanese martial arts. Born in Kyushu, Japan, he comes from a distinguished lineage of 16 generations of Samurai and Ninja, descended from an elite team founded by the legendary Hattori Hanzo.
Trained by his father and through his own disciplined path, he mastered 18 distinct samurai arts, earning the title of Sensei. His work is deeply shaped by Zen meditation, the Bushido code, and Shinto teachings.
From these deep roots, he developed The Zen Samurai Way — a method he calls “Moving Meditation.” This approach is designed to awaken life leadership skills and reconnect us to the core of our being. First taught at the Samurai Ninja Dojo in Tokyo, where he guided over 2,000 students, the practice continues to ripple across the world.
As the last heir of his lineage and with no children of his own, Sensei Takai carries a sacred mission, entrusted to him by his father, to share this powerful tradition with the world.
