Nixiwaká and Putanny, chiefs of the Sacred Village of the Yawanawá indigenous nation in the Amazon Forest of Brazil, will sing sacred songs of their people. They are coming to the Colibri Spirit Festival with their daughter Ykashahu and Saku who is a medicine man from the Marubo indigenous nation.
The songs will be sung both in the traditional way of the Yawanawá nation which is using only their voices and also with the instruments, guitar and drums.
The Rapéh is a very important medicine to the Yawanawá people, their culture and spirituality as important as Uní (Ayahuasca). They received both medicines at a time in Yawanawá history when no one died. When a very important Yawanawa chief named Ruá died, and it was the first death in their history, those medicine plants were born from his body so that with those plants the people could still communicate with him where he was going to.
Rapéh is made of tobacco and ashes which are blown into the person’s nose. It is a powerful spiritual medicine used for prayers, for connection with the ancestors and with spirituality.
Participants are invited to this ceremony in which the chiefs will share more about the medicine of the Rapéh, sing sacred Yawanawá songs and apply the Rapéh on those interested.
“We are the Sound and the Instrument. We are the Energy and the Container of it.” At conception, two things are necessarily present: vibration and water, which are continuously present as developing embryos in the womb.
Sophia will lead us into an exploration of the impact of sound and water in our multi-dimensional systems while playing in and out of the water on Arillas Beach.

She works with people of all ages, skills and abilities on land and in water to support the integration of their birth experiences, to help human beings embody their physical containers and to restore a deep trust in life and in themselves.
A journey into recognizing that your greatest challenge holds within it a seed of your greatest gift and service to the world. It is our responsibility to uncover our super powers in this life time and share them. We will be going on a journey into our hearts and activating our blu prints remembering that to be alive is the greatest gift we can ever receive.
