About

Sarah and Nic met serendipitously in Berlin 12 years ago, at a time when their journeys of healing and transformation were not yet even a seed in their minds. 10 years later, they crossed paths again, discovering their different journeys had led them down very similar roads, finding medicine in breath, embodiment, the return to our inherent masculine & feminine dynamics, plants, the power of sisterhood/brotherhood and using their own transformational processes as a tool to help empower others. They now offer workshops and retreats to couples all over the world.

Be As Water to Heal Humanity

Mermaid is coming to us from Australia to share her wisdom for aligning back to the frequency of the Earth to bring about the change needed for healing & positive change. She is a career environmental activist who has been fighting primarily plastic pollution through policy change, global philanthropic collaboration, and sharing her own personal journey of living plastic-free. Walking this public path of earth warrior has helped her soften, and she is passionate about supporting individuals to do simple, profound healing work to be resilient agents of change in the real world. Important to Mermaid is eating locally, becoming a “maker” to avoid packaging, aligning with the seasons, moving stuck energy in the body, breathing deep, resourcing our nervous system in nature. We must do the healing work to be able to show up for our planet and each other.

About

Plastic Free Mermaid has not used single-use plastics for over a decade. Coming to us from Australia, she is a science communicator who translates breaking science on how plastics impact our health & planet, and she does so from a solutions-oriented approach and through her connection to the world’s waters. She is an author, podcast host, global activist, and mother to her gorgeous son, Rainer Naluao. She hosts mermaid retreats where guests swim with whales and dolphins, live on a sailboat, practice yoga, and learn her plastic free ways and environmental activism. Mermaid recognises that people are overwhelmed with information & need to be brought back into their bodies before they can address big picture issues from a centered, earthed place. Her offerings blend the cerebral with the embodied. She joins us with great interest in what can birth from sharing her practices & knowledge & cultivating more connection.

Sarah Wu also known as Sarah Village Witch is a passionate educational curator, facilitator and mentor dedicated to adult learners of all backgrounds. A representative for Mother Nature as a writer and teacher of Deep Ecology, Therapeutic Spiritual Ecology and Whole Systems Design shared through the lens of Herbalism and Permaculture. Sarah Wu has 24 years studying and practicing the science, art and craft of Regenerative Herbal Medicine. Her foundation is in eclectic energetic and Western Wise Woman Traditions, actively practicing clinical herbalism in the Neo-Tropics for 15 years. With 30 and counting, 75+hour Permaculture Design Courses (PDC) in her portfolio, which encompasses earth sciences, regenerative strategies for human settlement design, community development and alternative social structuring. She can teach all aspects of herbal medicine from Materia Medica, ethnobotany, medicine making, formulation and anatomy/physiology. Sarah teaches workshops to young women, 10 – 16 years old about their physical and spiritual bodies in correspondence with lunar and planetary rhythms. Sarah attended the Tyler School of Art, where she immersed herself in the Fine Arts and Art History, Mythology, Symbolism and Philosophy. She is well versed, teaching archetypal symbolism and storytelling for personal reflection via Tarot and Modern Astrology.

A producer at heart, Sarah loves curating courses, workshops and events tailored to community, deep ecology, regenerative design and holistic health that highlight diverse and dynamic facilitators. Sarah is the friendly Village Witch, co-founder and producer of Envision Festival, a 10,000 person arts and culture event in Costa Rica (2011-present), where she curates the educational offerings spanning six stages and 300 hours. An international facilitator, Sarah has brought her teachings to the United States, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Cuba, Italy, Portugal, France and Germany.

Sarah lives with her husband, animals, plants and community off-the-grid half the year at their 2500 square meter homestead of the broader Tacotal Colectivo in the low mountains of Costa Rica, and the other half of the year in the coastal mountains of the La Marche region of Italy on a 1 hectare permaculture farm, in both locations they tend the land, teach, make medicine and host events.
