A Journey through Sound – Ceremonial Concert

Come and join us under the enchanted olive tree, the guardian of Colibri Farm’s ocean-view platform, for an evocative journey through sound and song. Our experience begins with a meditative Sound Journey, grounding us into a shared communal space.

From there, we’ll transition into a ceremonial concert featuring Laura Sequoia’s heartfelt compositions intertwined with sacred medicine music. Laura invites you to a symbiotic co-creation fostering introspection, deep feeling, prayer, expression through movement, and communal singing, weaving our voices together in shared resonance and harmony.

Laura Sequoia is a singer-songwriter whose melodies echo the depths of human emotion.
Each lyric is a fragment of her story, each melody a reflection of her soul.
She draws inspiration from the alchemy of heartbreak, transforming raw pain into exquisite art, by immersing it in hopeful melancholy, supported by her profound connection to nature and the guiding presence of spirit.
Devotedly walking the medicine path, she hopes to open up a portal with her voice and guitar, on the journey of transformation.

Set yourself up laying down on your yoga mat with pillows, a blanket and eye pillow (if you so choose!) and float amongst Benny’s fluidly looped and woven guitar melodies met with his soothing voice notes which creates an atmospheric ambient sound bath of sonic acupuncture to invoke a deeper state of connection. This intuitively heartfelt offering is enhanced by Holloway’s innate ability to spontaneously thread a powerful musical connection with the essence and spirit of the moment.

Holloway sensitively and skillfully creates an environment of sound that not only compliments the practice of yoga and meditation but has been known to create an atmosphere that guides to a deep experience of transcendence, spiritual contact, bliss, and release.

About

Holloway is a bright and intuitive musician based out of a small regional town Byron Bay, Australia. His genuine, warm personality alongside his stirring and evocative music make him one of the most intriguing musicians in the industry today.

Holloway’s music is completely intuitively created, deeply inspired by cross-cultured ethnomusicology, having lived in and around India for many years, the prayer calls from mosques that flood the city, the music within ashrams, the street performances soaked into my subconscious and only when it comes time to creating and playing music do flavours of those influences play themselves out through his melodic interpretation.

For almost a decade Holloway has been playing music and creating sound within the spiritual soul ceremonial space, weaving sounds to support sacred spiritual and yogic practices.

Holloway’s music has been referred to as “medicinal”. It is often shared that his music was used throughout the sacred process of giving birth, making love or transcending through yoga or meditation.

The vibrational waves, created by the OM Chanting circle and facilitated by Swami Chidananda, spread out in a 2-mile radius, establishing a harmonious, peaceful environment and fostering unity between humans and nature.

Before entering the spiritual path, he had a successful career as an investment banker and entrepreneur. Now, he uses his experiences to convey the ancient Yoga Systems in a relatable and accessible way for those seeking to reconcile Western and Eastern philosophies.

Benny Oyama is an American Singer-songwriter who intricately weaves his spiritual journey through the threads of Eastern Philosophy, Meditation, Yoga, Brazilian musical forms, and Central and South American wisdom. His music, both lyrically soulful and devotionally talented, acts as a transformative force uplifting hearts and souls across the globe.

With a masterful blend of vocals and guitar, Benny takes his audience on an immersive journey. Whether he’s conjuring the depths of the ocean with the fingerstyle riffs of ‘Hino Pra Iemanja’ or gently guiding busy minds to tranquility with the soft tones of ‘Autumn Blue,’ each note offers a unique depth rarely experienced in contemporary music.

After arriving in Mexico in 2021, Benny reconnected with Buddhism as a way of understanding and being in the world, a connection that began at the age of 16 at the behest of a mentor that rescued him from a deep depression. Singing mantras and prayers, and facilitating devotional song circles that infuse meditation, contemplation, and song has been a way for Benny to integrate his passion for music with his commitment to be in service to community.

Join song collector and voice specialist, Peia Luzzi, for an empowering workshop to open the primordial sound within you. Learn to harness the power of your true voice and sing with joy and ease. Much of the work that we will do in this workshop will be the work of undoing limitations and limiting thoughts. Of opening the body, deepening the breath and allowing our vessel to resonate and amplify the natural sounds created in the throat. Peia encourages a practice of gentleness rather than force, a practice that harnesses the energy of the breath and vibration of the voice, rather than muscling from the throat. From there you can open easily and reach both the top and bottom of your range with grace.

Peia Luzzi is an American born song collector, writer and multi-instrumentalist based in the mountains of Appalachia. Like water from a deep well, she draws inspiration from her ancestral roots of Celtic and Old World European folk music. With the voice of a lark, Peia dances nimbly from Child Ballads and 17th C. Gaelic laments, to Waulking Songs, and Bulgarian mountain calls. She has traveled & studied extensively over the past 10 years to reconnect with her own ancestral song tradition. Uncovering melodies wrinkled & wise with time, while taking care to honor their language and stories. Peia brings a piece of herself to each song she carries.

Sound healing is a tool to aid you in arriving at the depths of yourself. With a variety of holistical instruments we invite you on a journey into the sub-concious where there is potential to relax deeply and meet your inner creative source.
GONG – one of the world’s oldest instruments, will help You achieve a deep state of relaxation. Gongs and other organic sounds can help to get rid of fear and other negative emotions. This will contribute to increasing creativity and multiplies the activity of the immune system.

Please bring a mat for lying down.

About

Alex and Kaushalya are sound healers and cacao aficionados who work internationally at festivals, retreats, concerts, private sessions and ceremonies. They have trained at EMTA (Estonian Music and Theater Academy) as music therapists and also specialised in gong playing, sound massage, and sound bath from master Don Conreaux, in addition to studying Sufi rhythms and framedrums in Turkey. Alex and Kaushalya have developed their own system called ‘GongSPA’ utilising an approach based in existential psychology and sound healing for relaxation, meditation, transformation and joy.

Letizia Xiuh lives and serves with a heartfelt mission to heal all relations. In her service, she creates a safe and sacred space that holds individuals and keeps their hearts warm. They are guided to journey into the depths of their souls, to find their own capacity to heal and to connect to their highest potential and purpose. In times of change, the tools to evolve, grow, and move forward are within the reach of their hearts. Master plants, sweat lodge, art, music, and movement are part of this sacred weaving that opens their ability to adapt and cultivate resilience in their hearts, minds, and spirits.

Shahaf is a musician, medicine woman, songwriter, and moon dancer. She loves to connect with spirit in all forms and sees life as a true work of art. After living, working, and studying in Peru for the past 8 years, she recently moved to Costa Rica where she is continuing her path.
As part of her commitment to the medicine path, she works with the tribes of Peru, Ecuador, and Brazil. Shahaf is both humbled and honored to learn their traditions and music. Music is not only her biggest passion, but also her way to pray for life, for humanity, and for the expansion of the heart.
